DANISH SEA-WINNER (x4) - 0-67 Hcp NORTHAM - 1600m
One week after being sold through the auction ring, Danish Sea showed a return to form and chalked up the third win of her career when she dug very deep to score a narrow, but courageous win at Northam. Paul King rode her perfectly, happy to surrender the lead after 400m, getting off the rail well before the home turn, and then taking it up to the leader, the second favourite Valkyry Prince, before staging a battle royal up the straight to get the verdict by a short margin. It really was Kingy at his very best and it was also a good effort by new trainer Ken Williamson who only took over the training of the mare on the day of the sale. Thanks also to previous trainer Michael Pateman who took Danish Sea to a level of fitness which enabled her to be competitive this afternoon. Let's hope she can now build on todays win and maybe string a couple together??
