HENRY THE PHAROAH-WINNER (x3) - 3yo NORTHAM - 1000m
Henry The Pharoah scored his first win today when he was successful in the opening race on the Northam card. This was only his second ever go to the races and despite his relative inexperience, he proved that his trial win a fortnight ago was no fluke when he prevailed in the straight to score a half length win. Showing enough pace to position well in fourth place after settling, he gained a much needed split half way up the straight and once he saw daylight, he raced clear to establish a winning break. Jockey Steven Parnham was impressed with the win, and said that there was plenty more in the tank had he needed it. He forecast a bright future for the horse. Trainer Paul Jordan was equally was equaly as impressed and commented that the win followed on from some impressive trackwork by the Akhenaton three year old...
